blabbing on my blog

well, i have moved my 'art for sale' to my Etsy shop mostly www.tobinart.etsy.com/
my work can also be seen in person at my studio shop in Newburyport, mass and some work (right now 'Skipperke' is in the window) at The Chameleon Gallery on Liberty St. nbpt.

now, i am free to blah blah blah whatever here on my precious blog and not use it entirely for my online portfolio which is what i was doing but was jealous of all the folks that didnt. they just posted pictures and whatever else they felt like. now i get to be one of them. hooray!!!!

here is a cute picture of my cat playing with newest needle felt creature: Oh. the photos load on top of the page after i already typed.

tickling - NFS just inspiration

ACEO cards have been around for some years - there is a big following for them on Ebay, EBSQ and ETSY. They are 2.5 x 3.5 inches - often on watercolor paper. I am gearing up for a new life of doing them as well as my 9 x12 and 28 x 30 inch paintings on baltic birch. ACEO means Art Cards, Editions and Originals.
I spent a week re emmersing myself in ACEO land and came out the other side re committing to my mini pins, magnets and pendants.

tickling, originally uploaded by Tobin Art.

tiny art 2 x 2 inch on 400 lb watercolor paper. this is meant to be a paper charm to string on a necklace.

Loving the Dream Awake: a painter's journey

New book out this year
This is a journalistic approach to daily paintings with some life history thrown in from the eyes of the artist discovering oneself.

It is a helpful guide in any creative endeavor, gleaning the path of being in the moment suspending critical, crippling mind judgment and debilitating expectation, freeing up more energy to be a pillar of power in one's life.

Flat Canvas

well ~ I've decided to bail on stretched canvas for the moment and work directly on flat canvas. The Chameleon Salon did pick one of my flatties for this weeks show (one of seven pieces ~ my first salon after 7 years of my eye on the prize!) ~

So, i was draggin my self about with the new 'parrotfish' piece with my handy 16 x 20 stretcher bars ready, and this morning, decided to see how a gessoed piece of canvas will handle it.
